It was supposed to be their dream holiday home on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, but it seems things haven’t quite gone to plan for Karl Stefanovic’s end-of-year summer break.
According to one well-placed insider, the Today Show host and his new family, wife Jasmine and one-year-old daughter Harper, have suddenly cut short their time at their newly renovated beachside digs.
“They purchased the house last year for just over $3 million, and have spent $1 million on renovations. Karl looked at the rental potential, and has been seduced by the big bucks he can earn,” explains the insider.
“Anyone who knows Karl and Jasmine could see they were desperate to get home to Queensland. Karl was one of the main voices who lobbied the Premier to open the borders.
“They were planning on staying the entire holiday period, but money talks! Karl did the sums and figured out if you rent out in the peak periods, the place pays for itself – a no-brainer!”
In a fitting tribute to Jasmine’s late grandmother who passed away late last year, Villa Isabelle now features across a number of high-end Noosa accommodation websites.
On Airbnb, the pet friendly luxury five-bedroom European inspired beach pad that was recently featured in Vogue Living magazine, is available for rent at a whopping $3800 a night!
“With that price tag they’re making around $120,000 every 30 nights! Karl has made the decision to head back to Sydney for the remainder of the holidays. Knowing that sort of money is coming in at Noosa, he’s given Jasmine the green light for their next $1 million reno at their newly purchased Castlecrag home.
“He’s one happy man, especially after he was told the Noosa investment is now worth an eye-watering $5.5 million – that’s given him plenty of reasons to smile!”
