It’s no secret they’re not on speaking terms – with Karl Stefanovic’s father claiming their relationship is “beyond repair.”
But the rift between Karl Stefanovic and estranged dad Alex Stefanovic, 71, is set to deepen with the shocking news Alex is a writing an explosive tell-all book which will lift the lid on the family’s “darkest secrets.”
One of the most sensational chapters is devoted to the Stefanovic family’s “gambling curse” which Alex alleges has afflicted six generations of his family – and cost him his marriage to Karl’s mother, Jenny.
Despite Karl having no history with gambling, Serbian-German born Alex is determined to warn his son because he would hate to see him make the same mistakes he did.
“To some it may sound far-fetched but I assure you this curse is very real and could cost Karl everything if he is not careful,” says Alex – his marriage was ruined when he lost the family home in an ill-fated business venture.

“It’s no secret my son likes a bet on the horses. He has done for years – and we are talking big money. If he doesn’t stop now he could lose everything like I did.”
The family’s gambling history isn’t the only secret Alex plans to reveal when he releases it later this year.

He promises to go into “great detail” about his fractured relationship with his TV star sons Karl, 43 and Pete, 36, and their younger brother Tom, 32 – who he has barely spoken to, apart from an invite to Pete and his wife Sylvia Jeffrey’s wedding, in 25 years.
“That’s where I will be saying my piece. I am sick of all the lies,” Alex tells.
