It’s been an emotional return to the Today show for Karl Stefanovic.
Taking just a week off for the birth of his daughter Harper May with wife Jasmine, the 45-year-old has been gushing about his new bundle of joy non-stop.
And, honestly, we can’t blame him.

(Image: Instagram)Clearly emotional on his return to the show last week, co-host Allison Langdon asked Karl how he was feeling, to which he responded: “Everything hurts. I’m tired. Emotional.”
“It felt very difficult waking up this morning only five minutes after changing a nappy, but it’s like riding a bike, you just get used to it.”
While he’s been back on the Today show desk for a little while now, a still very emotional Karl was brought to tears when co-host Allison pulled out a gift for the newborn moments before the show ended.
“We think we should open it on air to share it with everyone, but we’ve been so excited for you guys,” Allison said as she handed the wrapped parcel over.
Karl pulled out a white onesie branded with the Today logo and immediately joked, “I’m going to try to get into it.”
“She’s now officially part of the team,” Allison added.
Part of the team! Karl was overwhelmed by the thoughtful gift.

“She’s so tiny, just three kilos of awesomeness,” he said.
“Thank you to my Today show family, you’re going to make me cry!” An emotional Karl added.
The arrival of Karl and Jasmine’s daughter was announced by the Today show’s Instagram page on May 2nd with Richard Wilkins confirming the news on the Weekend Today Show.
“We just have received word from our wonderful friend and colleague Karl Stefanovic that he and his wife Jasmine have welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Harper May. She was born just after midday yesterday. We send them all our love. To Karl and Jas, you guys are going to love this special time in your life,” Wilkins said on air.
As the show wrapped up today after gifting Karl the adorable onesie, Karl promised to be back on air wearing it tomorrow. So that’s something to look forward to.
