And it was no exception at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, which were held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Addressing his controversial song Famous, the unapologetic star mused of his wife’s ex, Ray J, who starred in her infamous sex tape and now features in the Famous video clip: “I mean like, I put Ray J in it bro!”

Thumbs up for another deep and meaningful speech by the one and only Yeezy.

“This is fame, bro!” Kanye added, before spotting his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose in the crowd.

“I see you Amber,” a cheeky Kanye shouted to his ex.

Kanye also insisted he had nothing but good intent for his on-again-off-again enemy, Taylor Swift, when he referenced her in his track Famous.

“Take Taylor? I love all y’all. That’s why I called her!” The star protested, in reference to his recent falling out with the blonde beauty.

Continuing on, Yeezy noted, “We came over in the same boat, now we’re all in the same bed. Well, maybe different boats, but… If you think about last week, there was 22 people murdered in Chicago.”

“My role models are artists, merchants. There’s less than ten I can name in history: Truman, Ford, Hughes, Disney, Jobs, West,” he added of his idols.

“Tonight, we’re here to have fun!”

“I’m standing in front of my idol Puff Daddy. I’m standing in front of my wife Kim Kardashian West.”

“I’m standing in front of the future, Chance the Rapper. 2 Chainz. Jayden Smith. Bro. We are undeniably the influence, the thought leaders. I’m gonna play y’all a piece of my art. And I just hope you all have a good time,” Kanye concluded.

Following his four-minute speech, the father-of-two debuted a world premiere of his latest “piece of art”, the video clip for his track Fade.
