Kim Kardashian was supposed to be enjoying a lavish 36th birthday with a 1920s theme, courtesy of family and friends.
But instead, it will be a much more sedate affair after her worried husband Kanye West cancelling the bash amid security concerns.
The Kardashian-West family have been on high alert since the Paris robbery that saw millions worth of jewellery stolen and Kim’s life threatened.
“Kanye is devastated to cancel,” an insider told The Sun Online.
“He had gone all our for Kim’s birthday and it was going to be no expenses spared with champagne and canapés.”
“Now they will do something low-key instead,” the source continued.
“He’s made sure he will still spoil her with stunning, one-of-a-kind earrings though as he doesn’t cut corners when it comes to his missus.”
Not one to let on occasion pass without some sort of extravagant gesture, the rapper has reportedly bought her a pair of ruby drop earrings apparently worth $US50,000.
The news of her low-key birthday celebrations come as InTouchWeekly claim the reality star is so paranoid about her safety, she’s decided to install a panic room in her LA mansion.
“It will be made to withstand a fire of over 1,000 degrees and a 7.0 earthquake,” an insider explained to the publication, before adding the high-tech creation could cost around $USD100, 000.
“Kanye has hired a company that protects government officials in war-torn countries,” the source added.
Meanwhile Kris Jenner has spoken out about her daughter’s fragile condition.
Khloe Kardashian made her first public appearance following her sister’s ordeal with mum Kris and sister Kourtney on hand for support.
Kris took the opportunity to tell fans it would take time before Kim was ready to come back into the spotlight again.
See Kris’s full statement in the video below. Post continues.
“It’s a process,” she told E! News on the red carpet. “One day at a time, it’s a process.”
The 60-year-old matriarch said her daughter is spending all the time she can with three-year-old North and 10-month-old Saint, while she is “doing what a mother does” and making Kim feel as safe as possible.
But while Kim might not be back in the limelight soon, she’s made sure her public don’t forget her.
The reality TV star has released a new line of Kimojis as she continues to recover from her robbery.
The tiny pictures are certainly risqué, with one depicting the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star squatting with her legs spread in a tiny bikini.
This particular Kimoji features a large diamond ring on her left hand, seemingly referencing the ring that was stolen in the heist.
Another shows her famous nude mirror selfie, black “censored” bars included.
