Just weeks after he was spotted drunkenly holding hands with a co-star, pop singer Justin Timberlake appears to be doing some serious damage control in his marriage to actor Jessica Biel.

In late November, Justin, 38, was caught holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright, 30, who was also seen placing a hand on Justin’s knee at one point, while enjoying a late-night drink on location in New Orleans.

Following the release of the shocking images, Justin issued a public apology to his wife – and now it seems he is doing all he can to ensure their marriage remains intact.

The Cry Me A River singer commented on a post Jessica uploaded on Tuesday, onset at a photoshoot for activewear brand Gaiam.

Justin commented with two love heart emojis and a heart eyes emoji, publicly expressing his love for his wife, for the entire world to see.

Jessica’s fans were quick to call Justin out for his grovelling remark, with hundreds of comments both criticising and supporting the star.

“lol boo don’t be trying too hard,” one person wrote, while others said “mm bye” and “you just look more and more guilty”, with another quoting Justin’s own song, writing “cry me a river.”

But others were supportive of the couple’s attempts to put Justin’s behaviour behind them and move on with their marriage.

“Just relax. It’s their lives and we shouldn’t judge as we have no idea how Jessica feels,” one fan wrote.

Justin and Jessica began dating in 2007 and have been married for seven years, after tying the knot in 2012. The pair also share a four-year-old son, Silas.

Earlier this month, Justin issued a public apology on Instagram for his behaviour, labelling it a “lapse in judgement”.

“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumours that are hurting the people that I love,” Justin wrot.

“A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgement – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar.”

Justin then explained that alcohol had also contributed to things escalating.

“I drank way too much that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation.”

He continued: “I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that.”

Justin ended his statement by saying that he was proud to be working on Palmer, and that he was dedicated to continue participating in the film.

A source told E! News that the interaction between Justin and Alisha was nothing but a friendly, professional relationship between the pair.

“They were out with all the cast, crew, makeup artists, and everyone was just hanging out in a social setting,” they said.

“There is absolutely nothing going on between them.”

And according to Us Weekly, Justin and Jessica are “still united” and “Jessica encouraged Justin to put out his statement on Instagram because she felt embarrassed by his actions and wanted him to take accountability.”

Furthermore, a source close to Jessica and Justin, who share four-year-old son Silas, told PEOPLE magazine that Jessica “is standing by” her man and doesn’t see the slip-up as a reason to break up.

“Obviously Justin drank too much this time, but Jessica believes he didn’t cheat on her,” the source said of the couple, who have been married since 2012.

“What’s most important to her in life is her family and being the best mum to Silas. She’ll never break up her family over something like this.”
