Troubled pop star Justin Bieber has been arrested in Miami for drag racing his yellow Lamborghini while under the influence of prescription drugs, alcohol and marijuana.
The 19-year-old was stopped by police after he was seen drag-racing on a residential Miami Beach street, travelling at 55-60mp/h (88-97km/h) in a 30mp/h (48km/h) zone after reportedly leaving SET nightclub. He then failed a sobriety test and resisted arrest before going on a foul-mouthed tirade at police.
“[Justin] made statements he had consumed some alcohol, been smoking marijuana and consumed some prescription medication,” police officials said in a news conference.
While the teen admitted to police he was under the influence at the time of his arrest, he couldn’t tell them which prescription anti-anxiety medication he had taken because he takes whatever his mum gives him.
Following a bail hearing, Justin was released from prison after posting the $US2500 ($2800) bail.
He was escorted by correctional officers and his entourage to a waiting SUV. Before driving away, Justin addressed his “Beliebers”, who had crowded around the prison gates, by jumping on the roof of the car and waving.
TMZ reports that Justin was uncooperative with police from the start of the ordeal. “Why the fk are you doing this?” he allegedly said to police. “What the fk did I do? Why did you stop me?”
When an officer tried to perform a routine pat down, he said, “I ain’t got no fking weapons, why do you have to search me? What the fk is this about?”
Justin’s passenger in the car was model Chantel Jeffries as he drag-raced well-known rapper Khalil, who was driving a red Ferrari.
Justin has been in trouble with the law recently after police raided his home following an egg-throwing incident against his neighbour.
