Julie Bishop has celebrated her birthday in style, donning a stunning Carla Zampatti gown for the occasion.
If the dress looks awfully familiar, that’s probably because we’ve all seen it before – and recently.
The former Minister for Foreign Affairs turned 65 on Saturday, July 17, and marked the milestone with friends and family in Perth, WA.
Taking to Instagram with a series of photos from the day, Julie wrote that it was “such a lovely day”.
“So it was my birthday yesterday…..😊 Such a lovely day being spoiled by many beautiful people I am so lucky to have in my life – near and far 🥰 💐🎁🛍” she penned.
“Began the day with 🧘🏼♀️then enjoying ☕️🎂@the.eric.chamberlain and rocky road🍫by @delilahandsons with the ‘collective effervescence’ of @yogaworx buddies😍 then brunch @vanscafecottesloe with wonderful friends, lunch with @granneedannee and a fabulous event last night at #MelloHouse for its 2nd anniversary🎉🥂 Joy🎈”
What a day! The photos she shared alongside her post showed Julie enjoying coffees, pastries and delicious rocky road with friends throughout the day.
But the most eye-catching snap was of her and acclaimed classical singer Veronique Willing together at a glamorous event.
Julie went all-out, donning a fitted, off-the-shoulder Carla Zampatti gown adorned with feathers along the neckline.
She accessorised with glittering earrings that looked to be made up of diamonds and pearls, and styled her hair back in a slick quiff.
We last saw Julie don the same $929 navy velvet dress (shop it here) in April for the funeral of Australian designer Carla Zampatti.
The 65-year-old has been wearing Zampatti frocks for years and was understood to be close with the late designer, who was just 78 when she died.
Julie shared a moving tribute to Zampatti after her death, writing on Instagram: “Carla Zampatti was a truly great Australian who inspired generations of women with her style, grace and determination.
“She was in a class of her own – #sprezzatura personified. It was a privilege to call her a friend. Vale Carla ❤️”
