Julie Bishop is perhaps best known for her striking feminine fashion statements juxtaposed with the neutrals of a male-dominated government.
Indeed, throughout her time as the Foreign Minister of Australia, the 64-year-old made her voice, and her gender heard.
An inspiration to females across Australia with her hard-working nature and advocacy for women, especially in parliament – it really was a no-brainer when her next big gig was revealed this week.
So how does one woman outdo her own inspiring legacy for women? Only by creating a Barbie doll that ‘s an exact reflection of herself.
Yep, the Perth-based former politician has collaborated with the iconic brand to empower girls all over the country – and frankly, we wouldn’t mind having one ourselves, either.
Sharing the exciting news to Instagram, Julie wrote: “I am thrilled to be announced as the 2021 Official Role Model for Barbie in Australia with my very own @Barbie dressed as Foreign Minister complete with [red high heel emoji], diplomatic passport and suitcase!”
She continued: “It was a joy to work with @barbie @mattel as part of their Close the Dream Gap campaign to inspire little girls everywhere to be whatever they want to be!”
She ended with a well worded quote: “Imagining she can be anything is just the beginning, actually seeing that she can, makes all the difference.”
In the images, Julie is dressed in the exact matching outfit to her creation.
She wears a blue coat and dress, pearl and diamond encrusted drop earrings and, of course, those bright red shoes.
WATCH: The moment Julie Bishop quit politics. Post continues after the video…
The former politician, who announced her retirement from federal politics in 2019, played a big part in designing the barbie, creating the outfit in her own time from scratch.
Of course, Julie’s friends and followers were over the moon upon learning of the collaboration.
Anna Heinrich quickly commented: “Absolutely incredible. Elle’s first barbie!”
Anna’s husband Tim also added: “Yes!! So good! I’m buying one for my little girl!”
Another fan wrote: “I love this so much and even more so for the fact that I’m a major Barbie collector! in fact I have nearly 400! I’m gonna have to make that one 401 when I get a Julie one.”
We can’t blame them – we’ve definitely got our eye on one as well…
