Depp and his wife, Amber Heard are expected to leave the country tonight with the pooches, according to The Daily Telegraph, after the two Yorkshire Terriers were given a 72 hour notice to leave the country by authorities because Depp didnโ€™t declare them to Australian Custom Officers.

The Tele also claims the couple could face criminal charges and fines if found to have intentionally deceived Australian customs about the pups.

And Agricultural Minister Barnaby Joyce is still not happy.

Speaking on The Project last night, Joyce โ€“ who claims the dogs with be euthanized if they do not leave the country in time โ€“ said Depp knows the security laws in Australia after the government worked with the Pirates of the Caribbean film crew to get two monkeys into the nation for filming.

โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter if Johnny Depp has been awarded sexiest man alive twice, itโ€™s time Boo and Pistol bugger off home,โ€ said Mr Joyce on The Project last night.

โ€œThey came in on their own private jet and they have to have the proper paperwork and do what law abiding Australians do with their own pets.โ€

The Weekly previously reportedโ€ฆ

Actor Johnny Depp, of Pirates of the Caribbean fame, is in a bit of hot water this morning. More accurately, his two puppy dogs, Boo and Pistol, are.

The 51-year-old brought his two Yorkshire Terriers into Queensland on a private jet last month to continue filming the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film. However, he failed to declare to Australian Customs Officers that he had done so.

Now, Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce has said Depp has โ€œ50 hoursโ€ to take the dogs back to California. Otherwise, he says, โ€œweโ€™re going to have to euthanise them.โ€

Speaking in Canberra this morning, Mr Joyce said, โ€œHeโ€™s now got about 50 hours left to remove the dogs. He can put them on the same charter jet he flew out on and fly back out of our nation.

โ€œThere is a process if you want to bring animals in. You get the permits, they go into quarantine, and then you can have them.

โ€œBut if you start letting movie stars, even though theyโ€™ve been the sexiest man alive twice, come into our nation, why donโ€™t we just break the laws for everybody.

โ€œItโ€™s time that Pistol and Boo bugger off back to the United States. After that I donโ€™t expect to be invited to the opening of the Pirates of Caribbean.โ€

There has been no official comment from Depp, but presumably he is currently negotiating how to keep the dogโ€™s with him and spare their lives.
