A heartbroken John Travolta has told how he desperately tried to save his son Jett’s life.

The devastated star has talked about the terrifying moments after the 16-year-old boy collapsed from a seizure.

John frantically performed CPR for 20 minutes while waiting for paramedics to arrive at the family’s Bahamas holiday home, but was unable to save the child he adored.

As Hollywood rallied around the 54-year-old actor, his wife Kelly Preston, 46, and their daughter Ella, 8, John talked of his love for his firstborn child.

“I did everything I could to keep Jett alive,” John told his family lawyer, Michael McDermott. “There was a slight pulse, so we did all we could. I tried the kiss of life for about 20 minutes. I wouldn’t give up.”

The New York Daily News reports that John begged attending paramedics to save his son’s life, pleading, “Help me, help me! I’m losing him.”

Insiders say John had to be physically removed from Jett’s body so his son could be transported to Freeport’s Rand Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
