John Travolta’s alleged secret gay past is set to be exposed in court by the man who claims they were in a six year relationship together.
The actor’s former pilot, Douglas Gotterba, insists he shared a romantic six-year relationship with John. Douglas (pictures above) originally revealed explosive details of their affair to American media in 2012, and has now won the right to argue in court that he’s not bound by a confidentiality agreement.
If he wins, it’s expected he will pen a tell-all about their supposed affair, which took place in the 1980s when John was publicly dating Brooke Shields.
Before he was slapped with a cease and desist letter from John’s notoriously “ferocious and fearless” legal team, Douglas told the National Enquirer that he and John became lovers soon after he was hired for a pilot job.
“We flew into Monterey, California… and had a wonderful dinner with a fantastic bottle of merlot, and I got the sense I was being courted,” he says. “As we walked back from the restaurant to the hotel, John suddenly said, ‘Hey, would you like a massage?’, so I said, ‘Sure, why not?'”
Douglas explained that when John gave him a massage while he was wearing only a towel, it “turned into something else – John was very passionate”. The next morning, John allegedly told Doug that “he really enjoyed the night”. ?In the subsequent years, John would “whisk” Doug to exotic locations such as Hawaii and Kenya.
“Sometimes he would bring women along as beards, but he would ask me to join him in his suite and we’d spend the nights together. It was our little secret,” he says. “There was no chemistry between [John and Brooke]. They’d smile for the cameras and everyone assumed they were a couple.”
Doug isn’t the first to claim John has been keeping a secret. Despite being rigorously denied, rumours of the actor’s hidden sexuality have been rife for years. It has no doubt has put a huge strain on his relationship with wife Kelly Preston, who it is believed has finally had enough.
