Chatting to the Daily Beast, the 60-year-old actor said he doesn’t “care that much” about it and “can’t control it” anyway.

“It’s just about people wanting money, that’s all,” he said.

“It happens on many levels.”

TheForgerstar’s decision to speak out comes just months after the actor’s former pilot, Douglas Gotterba, revealed he shared a romantic six-year relationship with John and is planning to release a tell-all book.

“Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago … I think that’s why it persists, to some degree.”

John, who is married to actress Kelly Preston, has long been plagued by persistent rumours he is gay.

In fact two years ago, a number of male masseuses claimed he made unwanted sexual advances during massages they’d given him.

When asked whether or not he found the accusations offensive, the father-of-two said he felt “offended” and hurt after his son’s sudden death back in 2009 and was overshadowed by cruel claims that he had entered into a relationship with the family’s nanny at the time, Jeff Kathrein.

“I felt like that was the lowest I’d ever felt,” the Grease star said.

“Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family; you really should.

“With that, I always felt like the media — not all of the media, but parts of it — went too low there.”

Jett Travolta died when he was just 16-years-old after suffering from a seizure.
