John Kennerley is communicating as Kerri-Anne Kennerley brings in their dog to visit

Days after John Kennerley's horrifying fall, there has finally been some good news.

On Friday evening, Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s manager confirmed John, 75, has sustained a spinal chord injury.

Although the injury is difficult to determine at this point doctors have revealed “he is showing signs of improvement as he is communicating with Kerri-Anne and medical staff.”

After undergoing lengthy spinal surgery earlier in the week, her husband is still on a ventilator but doctors are hoping he’ll be able to come off it in the coming days.

Kerri-Anne’s manager Sean Anderson confirmed to Woman’s Day the star visited her husband at Sydney’s Royal North Shore hospital on Friday with a very special guest.

“Today was actually companion day so patients were able to bring in their pets. Kerri- Anne brought in their beloved golden retriever Digger for a visit with John in ICU which was appreciated by John,” her rep said.

“While this is the most traumatic and devastating news we have been overwhelmed with messages of good wishes and prayers. thanks to all,” Kerri-Anne’s manager added on her behalf.

John’s loving wife has not left his side since he was airlifted to the hospital from Coffs Harbour on Monday.

The couple were enjoying a night of celebrations at the picturesque Bonville Golf Resort, laughing with friends and posing for photos when he stepped back from the restaurant’s ledge and took a nasty tumble onto the lawn, landing on his head.

“It happened just outside the restaurant, he fell in a very awkward manner on to the lawn,” said Brad Daymond, the general manager of the Bonville Golf Resort, “It was extremely unlucky,”

The British businessman was placed into an induced coma before being flown to ICU to be treated by specialists at the Royal North Shore Hospital.

The couple have been married for 30 years.
