Joe Simpson, 58, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The father of singers Jessica Simpson, 36, and Ashlee Simpson Ross, 32, confirmed the news to People Magazine through his rep.
The publication reveals the showbiz dad was diagnosed with cancer two months ago and has undergone surgery.
According to the report, the procedure went well and Joe has returned to work.
“He’s feeling great now and is optimistic. He’s felt so much love and support from his family and friends,” an insider tells People.
Since splitting his wife Tina after 34 years back in 2012, Joe has worked as a talent manager and harnessed his passion for photography.
In May, Joe held his first art show called Dream Works where he gushed about his two daughters.
“Their joy makes me happy. As a father, it’s not what your children do. It’s who your children are and are they happy? That’s the question you’ll always ask,” he said at the time.
Wishing Joe a quick recovery.
