The road to redemption may be long and arduous, but a newly fit Jodi Gordon is taking it all in her stride. Having recently passed a major milestone on her journey of recovery, the actress has finally got her life back on track, telling friends she has “completely changed” her wild ways.
Gone are the late-night parties and boozy benders of the past, instead replaced with quiet trips to the cinema with friends, as she concentrates on a vigorous detox regimen that combines healthy eating with regular exercise.
Indeed, the athletic young soap star is frequently spotted pounding the pavement on Sydney’s North Shore as she focuses on getting her life back in shape. But while Jodi, 24, looks more energetic and happy, she knows she still has a long way to go to atone for her alleged drug-fuelled night with bikie Mark Judge earlier this year.
Jodi made headlines across the country when she was found cowering in the bedroom of Mark’s Bellevue Hill home in June after a reported cocaine binge – after her then boyfriend, Seven Network heir Ryan Stokes, notified police that she was missing.
She was found when police responded to a report claiming five gun-toting men were trying to break in to Mark’s apartment. Jodie later conceded that she and Mark had been hallucinating when they called for help. The scandal ended her romance with Ryan and threatened to derail her acting career – and came as a stark warning that she desperately needed to confront her demons.
Heeding the message, Jodi sought solace with her mother, Bronwyn, preferring to stay with her on the North Shore rather than face the solitude of her own pad after moving out of Ryan’s $4.5 million Walsh Bay apartment…
