Oscar winning actress Jodie Foster has been “quietly dating” Ellen DeGeneres’ former girlfriend, photographer Alexandra Hedison, for several months.
“It’s pretty serious,” a source told E! News. “They’re totally in love.”
Jodie, 50, and Alexandra, 44, sparked rumours of a romance after being spotted together numerous times in Los Angeles and New York.
They both attended a technology seminar at Fox Studios in LA and were later spotted out to dinner with friends. They also both attended the opening of Alan Cumming’s Macbeth in New York in April, but kept a low profile and weren’t photographed together.
Jodie famously confirmed she was gay when she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement at the Golden Globes in January.
“This is not going to be a big coming out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stoneage,” she said.
“Those [were] very quaint days when a fragile girl would open up to trusted friends and family and co-workers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her.
“But now…I’m told that every celebrity is expected to honour the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance and a primetime reality show.”
Jodie also thanked her former partner, Cydney Bernard, with whom she has two sons. The pair split in 2008 after a 20-year relationship, while Alexandra and Ellen’s relationship ended in 2004 after three years together.
