Jimmy Barnes has arrived in Thailand to say his final goodbyes to lifelong friend and acclaimed promoter Colleen Ironside.
Taking to Instagram, the rocker shared a slew of photos from the memorial service.
“Day 1 saying goodbye to our dear Colleen at Wat Taht Thong, Bangkok,” he wrote.
“This will take four days until cremation,” he continued. “Old friends and family will gather and talk about the years. The monks will chant every night and we will sing yours songs. We see it through with you my kind friend.”
This is the latest of posts Jimmy has made in honour of Colleen.
Just three days ago the former Cold Chisel member shared details of the four-day long memorial service.
“We’re off to Thailand to farewell my good friend Colleen Ironside. For those of you would like to join the livestream, you can find the link via the QR code in this post, or in the same post on my Facebook page.”
Colleen Ironside was the managing director of the Asia-wide tour company Live Limited. She was one of the first globally acclaimed Australian music promoters.
She died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hua Hin, Thailand, on July 22 at the age of 69.

Jimmy considered the promoter a part of his family.
“It’s taken me a few days to write something about the loss of our dear friend Colleen Ironside,” he penned on Twitter. “My friend for forty five years, so close to all of us that she’s one of the family.
“Through all we went through you were always there for me, you never changed. I will miss you, 🙏🏻 x.”
Colleen is the latest celebrity Jimmy has paid tribute to, with the Flame Trees singer honouring the late Olivia Newton-John just six days ago.
“It’s a sad day,” he began an Instagram post.
“Australia’s sweetheart Olivia has left us but she will remain in our hearts. I was lucky enough to work with her a few times. She didn’t disappoint. Talented and truly a good soul. RIP Olivia.”
