A little over a week since his ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White’s, tragic death, actor Jim Carrey is preparing to fly out to Ireland to attend her funeral.
Cathriona, 28, took her life on the 28th of September.
Carrey, who had been dating White since May 2015 but had recently ended the relationship, released a statement two days later, saying: “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.”
“She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled,” it read, “My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her.”
“We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
Carrey also paid to have Cathriona’s family flown out to LA to be with her following her death, as well as offering to pay for her funeral services.
Cathriona’s funeral will be held on Saturday, October 10th.
She will be laid to rest beside her father in her hometown of Cappawhite.
