Jennifer Aniston has formed a secret friendship with Jon Voight – the father of her rival Angelina Jolie, Woman’s Day can reveal.
If Jen was looking to reignite her rivalry with the woman who stole Brad Pitt away, it seems she’s going the right way about it. Angelina ‘would go nuts’ if she knew how close Jen was to her estranged father Jon Voight.
A source close to Jen tells us Jon, 76, is friends with Jen’s father John, and despite Ange infamously “stealing” Jen’s then-husband Brad in 2005, they’ve shared a special bond.
“Jon has been something of a guiding light for Jen. She’s often turned to him for career advice,” says the insider. “She adores him and thinks he’s really funny. She can’t believe Ange is his flesh and blood.”
It’s yet another reason for Ange, 39, to distance herself from her dad, who she turned her back on when he split from her late mother Marcheline. And while Jen, 45, insists she’s moved on from her grudge against Ange, the source says otherwise.
“Jen is able to get little titbits of gossip about Angie and Brad from Jon, which she laps up.
I don’t think he does it maliciously; he doesn’t realise he’s saying too much. But Angie would go nuts if she found out.”
Adding insult to injury, Ange’s ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton also declared his allegiance to “Team Jennifer” on Golden Globes night. When asked by Access Hollywood who he’d rather hook up with, Jen or Reese Witherspoon, he replied, “Jennifer Aniston – lifelong goal. That’s all I’m sayin’.”
