Although she’s a singer, actress, dancer and mogul, the role Jennifer Lopez likes playing most is that of a mum. But, as it turns out, she was convinced motherhood wasn’t on the cards for her.

While promoting season two of her TV drama Shades Of Blue on the US Today Show, Jennifer, 47, became emotional when talking about her twins, Maximilian and Emme.

“I didn’t have kids till later. I almost thought it wasn’t going to happen for me,” the teary star revealed during her March 2 appearance. “I’m very aware I was blessed with that. It could have been something different.”

Now Jennifer – who split with the twins’ father Mark Anthony, 48, in 2011 after seven years of marriage – says she couldn’t imagine her world any other way. Aww!

“They just made my life so much better,” she says. “I’m forever grateful that. I don’t take it for granted one day.”

We also got all of the feels last month when JLo gushed about Max and Emme in a touching post to mark their ninth birthday.

“Thank you Lord for choosing me to be Max and Emme’s mom,’ she wrote on Instagram. “The word LOVE is not enough for how my heart and soul feel when I think of you… Happy Happy Birthday my lil coconuts!!! Mama loves you so damn much!!!”

So between motherhood, her TV show, recording an upcoming Spanish album and her Las Vegas residency, how does she juggle it all?

Oh, and did we mention that later this year JLo’s also set to star in NBC’s live production of Bye Bye Birdie?

“It is a little bit insane. I take it one day at a time,” she laughs. “Me and the kids are like gypsies. We’re travelling all over the place, just getting it done, doing the best we can.”

We’re tired just thinking about her workload!
