The Prime Minister of Morocco Adbelilah Benkirane is investigating Lopez’s sexually charged concert at the Mawazine music festival in the city of Rabat late last month.
The 45-year-old’s show has reportedly been causing a stir among the predominantly Islamic nation’s religious leaders who say Lopez’s provocative moves should have not been shown on TV because they violate the country’s morals and audiovisual laws.
Benkirane described the performance as “indecent”, “provocative” and “disgraceful” and is threatening legal action against JLo and the concert organisers.
According to BBC reports the PM has since asked the High Authority of Audiovisual Communication to “take legal measures against those responsible in this serious delinquency”.
Last week there were calls for Morocco’s minister of communications to resign for allowing the gig to air on public TV.
TMZ reports that a Moroccan educational group is already suing the mum-of-two claiming her scant outfits and racy show “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honour and respect.”
The gossip site claims J-Lo could face up to two years jail if found guilty but it is highly unlikely she will be extradited to face any charges.
