Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky have split after a year of dating, according to multiple sources.
The actress, 27, and the director, 48, began seeing each other after working on Darren’s thriller mother! last year.
In October, their relationship was made public when an unsuspecting fan snapped a picture of the two dining. He had been meaning to take a photo of Jennifer, but had no idea her companion was actually the big-deal director behind the likes of Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg on the Awards Chatter podcast, published Monday, Jennifer revealed how their relationship first got off the ground.
“[I] had a crush on him when he pitched to me and that was like a year before we started rehearsing, but he was a professional, which only made it worse for me,” she said.
“So we just kind of formed a friendship, she continued. “He knew how I felt, he never told me how he felt — I mean, I assumed — but we just formed a friendship, and then the friendship turned into a partnership for the movie once we started working, and then, when the movie was done, I was like, ‘Alright, you’re my boyfriend!’ And he was like, ‘Alright, I’m your boyfriend.'”
Jennifer was previously linked to British actor Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
Darren was in a nine-year relationship with actress Rachel Weisz before they broke up in 2010. The duo share a 10-year-old son together, Henry.
