After his split from Gwyneth Paltrow in 2014, the world was undeniably curious to see what Chris Martin’s, 38 love life would look like and we were all pleasantly surprised to find out he began a romance with Oscar winning actress Jennifer Lawrence,25.
Since they were first linked together over a year ago, the pair’s relationship can definitely be described as on –again off-again.
Now a well-placed pal of the dad-of-two has revealed to People the real reason behind why their romance could never work.
“Chris doesn’t really want the relationship to end, but he needs to be flexible so he can see his family as much as possible with his own work schedule,” they explained.
Before adding: “He’s crazy about Jen but wants to keep his own schedule and be able to do what he wants when he wants to do it.”
The Fix You hit-maker has two children, Apple, 11 and Moses, 9 with Gwyneth Paltrow and insiders hinted that the actress may have had a small part to play Jen and Chris’ relationship woes.
A source close to the Hunger Games actress admitted to People that Jen is “tired of Chris being so noncommittal.”
Insiders hinted that Gwyneth Paltrowm, Chris’ former wife, had a part to play in their break-up.
The Coldplay front-man’s friend also told the magazine, “Jennifer’s been pretty good about sharing Chris with his family, in part because she has been too busy herself to have it become a real problem, but she still wants to see more of him.”
Although their insane schedules can be partly blamed for their rocky road to love, there may be some hope left.
“They still care about each other, so I can’t say the romance is completely over,” revealed a pal of the 25-year-old.
