Following her telling Vanity Fair interview, Jennifer Garner and ex-husband Ben Affleck stepped out separately on Sunday evening to attend the magazine's after-party.

Jen may have had some choice words from her former beau, but that didn’t stop her from heading to the same party as Ben Affleck.

Walking the carpet alone, the 43-year-old was a vision in a black Atelier Versace gown, while her ex looked very smart in a navy suit at the star-studded party. And it seems things are amicable between the exes, with the pair spotted sharing a friendly hug and a kiss.

“They had a nice moment where they caught up and a lot of their friends were there – and they chatted and then they left,” an onlooker told People.

Jen had an Alias reunion with Victor Garber and J.J. Abrams.

The two later parted ways, with the 43-year-old beauty catching up with her close friends and Alias collaborators Victor Garber and J.J. Abrams.

Both Victor and J.J chatted to Vanity Fair about the mum-of-three.

“I don’t remember having more fun working with anyone than I’ve had working with her,” Star Wars director J.J told the publication.

“She’s smart-funny – she makes you want to be funnier and smarter, and you know that when you throw the best you’ve got her way she’ll make it better. No one’s perfect. But no one’s Jen Garner.”

While Victor, who is godfather to Jen and Ben’s eldest daughter Violet, gushed, “She’s one of the most important people in my life.”

What’s hiding under that jacket… Only Jimmy’s arch nemesis, Matt Damon!

Meanwhile the Batman actor dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he sneaked best pal Matt Damon on to the show. Deviously trying to hide The Martian actor, Ben tucked Matt under his clothing by wearing an over-sized suit.

Jimmy Kimmel quickly caught onto the hi-jinks, looking into Ben’s apparent “weight gain”. For those who don’t watch the late show, Jimmy and Matt have a long-running “feud” with each other.

Ben told Jimmy, “ I just think it’s gone on long enough.”

He added, “I think it’s maybe time to bury the hatchet here, man.”

“This is illegal what you’re doing. This is trespassing. This is potentially breaking and entering. You know I could have you arrested right now for this,” Jimmy told Matt. “I was actually nominated for an Oscar and I can’t get on the Oscar show?”

Matt, who lost the Best Actor gong to Leo DiCaprio, was dragged off stage by Jimmy’s stage personnel.

Following the hilarious stunt, the dad-of-three revealed he and Jen just celebrated their youngest child, Samuel Affleck’s, fourth birthday with a superhero-themed party.

Of course if your dad is Batman, it is only fitting he turns up!

“I was like okay. I had to call the studio and say, ‘Is there any chance someone has the costume around?'” Ben said.

Though he admitted the studio was initially hesitant to loan him the suit. He laughed, “They trust me for the movie, but not for a four-year-old’s birthday.”

Adding, “There was Wonder Woman, Captain America, Iron Man and there was me. It was so mortifying … I didn’t think that all the kids’ parents would be there. It’s 11 in the morning and [the parents] are like, wow, Batman!”

It’s clear that both Jennifer and her ex are focusing on keeping their family unit together.

The duo are echoing Jen’s sentiment from her Vanity Fair article, “I need to move with the big picture always on my mind, and the kids first and foremost.”
