Jamie Dornan is set to quit the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise due to the poor critical reception of the first film and his discomfort with filming the raunchy sex scenes with co-star Dakota Johnson with whom he notoriously clashed on set.
“Jamie doesn’t think his performance was bad – instead he blames Dakota and says it wasn’t possible to have chemistry with her because she’s such a bad actress,” an insider source reportedly told NW magazine after the film was met with scathing reviews.
“He says Dakota gave him nothing to work with and is inexperienced.”
Jamie’s wife of two-years Amelia Warner was reportedly also rather uncomfortable about his heated sex scenes with the daughter of Melanie Griffith. Jamie told the UK’s Evening Standard recently that: “(Amelia) hasn’t seen the film and I don’t think she will, to be honest, I’d understand if she didn’t want to.”
Amelia wasn’t the only one who felt uncomfortable about seeing the film either with Dakota’s movie star mum Melanie Griffiths reportedly also opting out!
A representative for the handsome star though denied the reports in a statement to E! that read: “All press reports are pure conjecture as the studio has not committed to a sequel as yet.”
Even the film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson allegedly wants nothing to do with the kinky movie’s sequels with the UK’s Sun reporting that she has dropped out as contender for director for part two and three after ongoing disagreements with the author of the books, E.L. James.

A film insider told The Sun: “Sam won’t be back for the Fifty Shades sequels. She wants out and Universal knows that’s the right decision.”
“Her relationship with Erika has become absolutely toxic – they despise each other and blame each other for the problems with the film.”
Dakota meanwhile has kept quiet amidst the bitterness of her colleagues, as she reaps the benefits of her new found super-stardom. The previously low-profile star has been enjoying a new found level of fame as she has been featured on magazine covers, in fashion spreads, and even in music videos as part of her role of leading lady.
“Dakota’s been kept out of most of this,” NW’s insider continued. “She admits she and Jamie probably could have got on better during filming, but there was so much pressure on her that she had to stay focused on the job. She’ll be devastated when she finds out that Jamie’s been trash-talking her.”
With nothing actually confirmed by the studio’s producers as yet, we guess we’ll all just have to wait with baited breath to find out if Jamie and Dakota will return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele!
