This could possibly be the best news of the day, so I’m going to get straight to the point. Hollywood hunk, and currently single, Jake Gyllenhaal wants to be a dad, and he wants to be a dad soon, if not immediately.
While on a press tour to promote his newest Oscar-contending film, Stronger, Jake, 36, chatted to People about his desire to become a father.
“I want to continue becoming more of an adult than I already am,” he explained. “Hopefully, with a family of my own.”
He then added that babysitting his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal’s two daughters has been a great experience.
“It’s fun to send them home with a lot of candy, because it was almost like, ‘Enjoy it, Mags!'”
However, this isn’t the first time Jake has revealed that he’s ready to be a dad – the Brokeback Mountain actor has been dropping hints for sometime now. In 2015, during a press tour for the film Southpaw he told Entertainment Tonight:
“Children are everything…I am not a father yet, but it is definitely a dream of mine, should I be lucky to have that to happen.”
“I have nieces who I love deeply and I have children in my life I love deeply.”
And Jake, who has previously scolded journalists for asking about his love-life, really wasn’t shy about his dreams of fatherhood when he spoke to the Inquirer:
“Nothing gets me more excited than thinking about being able to have a family and to be a father and husband. There is no other purpose I can see in the world than that.”
Finally, speaking with People again and referencing the fact that he played a father in Southpaw, Jake said, “I would love for it not to be fictional.”
Jake, you’re killing us! Will someone kindly find Jake a lady? Or will someone kindly pass on Jake’s number? For a friend.
