It’s been 16 years since Popstars was on our tv screens, but we still remember it like it was yesterday – and so does Jackie O.
Taking a walk down memory lane, Jackie O took to Instagram to post some cute videos of herself and Sophie Monk filming the hit reality show in 1999.
The videos, starring very baby-faced Sophie and Jackie, show the girls’ very first days on Popstars as they move into a share house and talk about the first contestant being eliminated.
In one clip, Sophie, who is almost unrecognisable with her short blonde bob and big eyes, introduces herself to the cameras.
“Sophie Charlene Akland Monk is my full name and I’m 19 and I’m a Sagittarius,” she says in the clip.
Popstars was the first we’d heard of Sophie Monk – but it certainly wasn’t the last.
After the show, Monk went onto join girl group Bardot, with other singers Tiffani Wood, Katie Underwood, Belinda Chapple, Sally Polihronas and Chantelle Barry and was catapulted into fame.
Since then Sophie, now 35, has starred in her fair share of movies and TV shows and is set to feature on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice Australia.
