Fans have bid farewell to Neighbours star Andrew Morley after his character, Jack Callahan, left Erinsborough for a better life with his on-screen family Paige (Olympia Valance) and baby Gabe.

So what’s next for the talented 28-year-old?

“It’s a happy balance at the moment,” Andrew says. “I’ve been lucky enough to have long-term contracts in Home And Away [as Spencer Harrington] and Neighbours.”

He says he hasn’t been dependent on finding that next acting job. But one role he is happy to be playing is dad to his baby daughter, Skylar Rose.

His partner, Jay Haggar, gave birth to the little girl in December last year.

“I think things have realigned since Skylar Rose arrived,” he says. “So I’ll see where acting goes.

“Moving forward, there’s a lot to comprehend.”

The actor shares he also wouldn’t mind pursuing a career as a firefighter.

He already has plenty of experience in the role, having volunteered in his country Victorian town for 13 years. He remained on call during his Neighbours run.

“I love firefighting and could so see myself as a career firefighter,” Andrew says. “It’s rewarding, fulfilling and challenging.”

He tells Digital Spy: “The skill that I have within the brigade can so easily be transferred into a permanent paid firefighter so I would not turn that down.”

But there’s one thing Andrew knows for sure – he won’t be following in the footsteps of the likes of Chris Hemsworth.

“I’m not going to pack up and go overseas to become a Hollywood superstar,” he maintains. “That’s not me.”
