A sneak-preview has been released of Hugh Jackman’s up and coming movie Chappie, in which he sports a very impressive 1980s style mullet!

Chappie is the new sci-fi action-adventure film from the writer and director of District 9, Neill Blomkamp. The story is a kind of dystopic adaptation of the classic tale of Pinocchio – this time starring the robot Chappie instead of a puppet, and follows him as he learns to think and feel for himself.

Hugh stars as Vincent – the villain of the film, who is determined to capture and turn the protagonist Chappie into scrap-metal. The film also co-stars Sigourney Weaver and Dev Patel – of Slumdog Millionaire fame.

It’s not the first time that Hugh has donned a mullet though – in fact he even managed to woo his future wife Deborra Lee Furness while sporting one when the pair met on the set of 1995 TV show Corelli.

It’s also not the first time that Hugh has adopted a dramatic new hairdo for a role. Earlier this year he shaved his head for a role as Blackbeard in the newest film adaptation of the classic Peter Pan story.

He then spent most of the summer with an impressive curly pirate beard and bald head before shaving it off last month for a new bald look.

Then of course is perhaps Hugh’s most famous leading role – as Wolverine – which saw him adopt an impressive pair of mutton-chop sideburns multiple times for each new installment of the movie franchise. Click through the gallery to see his evolving hairdos.
