Hugh Jackman has cemented his place in Hollywood history being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Aussie actor’s star is the 2487th to be unveiled along the famous stretch, but Jackman is by no means late to the party.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which controls the awards, said the Wolverine star was a popular choice, and a great achievement for the actor who ten years ago was relatively unknown.
Jackman was still on a high after receiveing his Golden Globe nomination for his lead role in Les Miserables.
“It’s kind of a surreal day,” Hugh told E News.
“I’m excited. The star is right outside where I got to hose the Oscars and if the movie gets nominated, it’ll be nice to get up there and show a little bit of the show to everybody.”
His star was unveiled in the company of wife Debrorrah Lee Furness and Les-Mis co-stars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried at the ceremony.
Hathaway was proud of her co-star and was not afraid to share a joke at his expense either.
“Not to sound ungenerous, but it’s been my experience that when someone is as charming and likable and Hugh, it’s usually because they are overcompensating for a lack of talent. Or a psychopath,” she joked.
“But I have worked with Hugh a few times now so I know this is not the case here. He is crazy-wonderful,” said his co-star Anne Hathaway.
