Actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have rushed to Melbourne to be with her mother as she battles illness.
According to reports, Fay Duncan, who is wheelchair bound, has been ill for a while but her condition doesn’t seem to be improving.
The famous pair had been enjoying time in their Bondi home when they received the news, before they flew out to be by Fay’s side with their children in tow.
Hugh had reportedly been filming an upcoming Wolverine sequel.
A source chatted to The Daily Telegraph about the situation.
“It’s a very sensitive time,” they revealed.
“It’s well documented Deborra’s mother hasn’t been well for a while and the family want to be there for her.”
Deborra-Lee’s mother has spent many of her years helping other people, setting up various charities to help people with cancer.
After a friend’s daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia, she helped set up the Bone Marrow Donor Institute, back in 1989.
Hugh has frequently described Fay as “the best mother in law”, and even stepped in to take her place at the Red Ball when she was too ill to attend, raising more than $100,000 for the Fight Cancer Foundation.
Hugh’s no stranger to cancer scares. Watch the moment he revealed his own battle in the video below.
