First stop was the Governors Ball, held just upstairs from the ceremony, where he got his golden statuette engraved with his name.
“Do you do this every year? I wouldn’t know!” the actor joked to the etcher.
Afterward, he escorted his beloved mum to the hottest bash in town, the star-studded Vanity Fair party.
As soon as he entered, Leo was swamped by well-wishers and spent much of the next two hours receiving a constant stream of celebrity congratulations from stars including Sir Elton John, Ben Affleck, Chris Rock, Rebel Wilson and Puff Diddy.
It might sound boring, but onlookers told Hello magazine that Leo looked “deliriously happy”.
Despite his enjoyment of the whole affair, Leo ducked out of the party early to continue his celebrations privately with a select group of family and friends at West Hollywood restaurant Ago, where he was seen puffing on an e-cigarette and sipping cocktails.
He certainly appeared to get quite merry – TMZ reports he almost left his Oscar there when he went home.
“When he left, someone ran out after Leo’s car with his Oscar, almost as if someone forgot to take it!” an onlooker told the gossip site.
We hope they had a stellar evening! He deserves it.
