The Queensland contestants reveal the difficulties they've faced while on the hit reality renovation show.

After renovating five houses, you’d think overhauling a garden would be a walk in the park for House Rules stars Daniella and Aaron. But the Queensland competitors say this was far from the case.

“The garden round was a whole different ball game and my body just began to crumble,” Daniella tells OK! exclusively. “It was full-on [with the] digging – you do an advanced labouring job – and I was suffering.”

“I just wanted someone to give me a new body,” Daniella laments of her reno-induced aches and pains.

The gruelling competition left 38-year-old Daniella – who had given birth to her second child only three months before the show started – in immense pain.

“I was suffering a lot with bad neck pain, and just physically I was drained. I was just so burnt out that I didn’t know how I was going to continue.”

Daniella and Aaron welcomed their second child just a few months before filming began on the reality series.

While rest was not an option – the contenders had just four days to transform their zones – it appears fuelling their bodies wasn’t a top priority, either.

“It was always ‘eat on the run’. There were breaks, but because we always pushed ourselves to the limit there wasn’t time to sit down,” explains Daniella, who says that she’d go from breakfast to dinner without a meal.

The couple were all smiles before they got down to business!

“We were starving – most of the time we were running on air because you are so stressed and don’t feel like eating – and I know that [the other House Rules contestants] would all be in the same boat,” she tells.

Daniella’s hubby, Aaron, 31, who’s a carpenter by trade, says he too was struggling. His main gripe was the lack of sleep – he says they were functioning on a maximum of five hours a night!
