For Home and Away star Sam Frost, the decision to vaccinate her first baby with fiancé Jordie Hansen was a “no-brainer”.
The actress is preparing to welcome her baby in the upcoming weeks after announcing they were expecting in September, and Sam admits she was hesitant.
“I’ve had my whooping cough vaccine and of course I’m going to vaccinate my child,” she told Stellar magazine.
“It’s a no-brainer for me. I was a bit hesitant about the COVID vaccine because it was brand new.”
Her decision could spark some controversy after receiving “judgement” from her personal decision to not get the COVID-19 vaccination.
Sam previously shared an emotional video where she broke into tears while explaining why she didn’t initially vaccinate, which has since been deleted.
“I’ve spoken to my doctor and my psychologist about it and I’m going to keep that private,” Sam said.
“There’s a lot of harsh judgement and opinions being thrown around a lot and it’s taking its toll on my mental health, for sure, and I know people around me are struggling – particularly if they’re on the side that they don’t want to get vaccinated, for whatever reason.”
At the time, she reminded followers there are various reasons why people were not being vaccinated including medical reasons, family history or religious reasons.
However, the soon-to-be mum has confirmed she has since been vaccinated against COVID-19.
While pregnancy has been an exciting journey for Sam, it hasn’t been without its challenges. The actress has been candid in discussing her side effects she suffered.
“I threw up so much I also wet my pants… it wasn’t the first time,” she shared to Instagram.
“I sat on the bathroom floor crying… all gross in my own spew and wee. Then yelled at my partner as if it was his fault.”
Rather than be disheartened by Sam’s comments, Jordie understood the rough patch, purchasing his fiancé Red Rooster and reassuring her.
It was “mental torture” for Jordie to leave Sam to film Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains.
