From Summer Bay to Bollywood: Lynne McGranger’s surprise flash mob appearance

Shoppers in a suburban mall were caught unawares by the Home & Away fave this week!

From out of nowhere, dancers dressed in sparkling saris appeared in the middle of a Sydney shopping centre to the sound of cheery Bollywood music.

And it wasn’t long before locals at Stockland Merrylands spotted a very familiar face at the centre of it all – Lynne McGranger, better known as Home and Away star Irene.

Lynne’s got the moves! Watch her in action in the video above.

The incredible scene – which you can watch in the video player above – was designed to promote the DVD and Blu-Ray release of film The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

And for Lynne, 62, who honed her grooving skills as a former contestant on Dancing With The Stars, being involved with the spectacular display was up there as a life highlight.

“It was brilliant! I’ve always wanted to be in a flash dance and loved the movie, so I jumped at the chance to be involved,” she tells Woman’s Day. “It’s another tick off the bucket list.”

The flash dance was inspired by the final scene from The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, out now on DVD and Blu-Ray.
