It’s a tale as old as time (or as long as reality TV has been around) that Bachelor couples profess their love for each other on national television, only to break up mere months later.

But Holly Kingston and Jimmy Nicholson are determined to be one of the franchise’s lasting success stories.

In a candid interview, the pair, who met on the 2021 season, said they have always being open and honest with the public about their relationship.

“For both of us, we are not just telling people what they want to hear, which I think other people who have gone through this, you get sucked into it,” Jimmy told Confidential.

“If Brooke [Blurton] and Darvid [Garayeli] didn’t work out, that sucks for them but I was conscious of the fact I wasn’t going to call Holly my life partner if I didn’t see her as that just to keep everyone happy. We have been really true the whole time and I think that is maybe where people get it wrong.”

While The Bachelor has had some huge success stories, including Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, and Snezana Markoski and Sam Wood, the franchise has also had its fair share of disasters.

“We know we are going to get married, it is just a matter of when,” Jimmy said.

There was Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins who infamously chose no one in his finale, and season one lead Blake Garvey who dumped Sam Frost for second runner-up Louse Pillidge.

“If you are not sure as s–t you are going to be with that person, don’t tell the world that you’ve found your life partner,” Jimmy said.

They’ve since moved in with each other in an apartment in Sydney’s Bondi, and confessed after the finale that they’re looking forward to life as a normal couple since Sydney’s second lockdown put a lot of things on hold.

“We skipped a lot of the first steps to a relationship, where you’re going on coffee dates or doing all the simple things,” Jimmy told TV WEEK at the time.

“So, we’re really looking forward to getting back to normal life.”

The pair have also openly discussed starting a family in the future. On an Instagram Q&A after the finale aired, Jimmy eagerly said he’s keen to have two kids, a boy and a girl, but Holly added she needs a bit more time.
