The British Dame had her co-star of The Hundred Foot Journey, Manish Dayal, giggling like a school boy when she flirted with him at a press conference on Tuesday.
While at a panel press conference for the film the actors were asked about their favourite food and 31-year-old Manish feigned his best Texan accent to respond with: “Southern fried chicken”.
Mirren along with the rest of the room had a chuckle and the 69-year-old then turned to her co-star to tell him: “You’re so sexy when you talk southern.”
While Manish was reduced to a bashful grin Mirren continued in the same breath to talk about the movie and how Steven Spielberg convinced her to get on board.
“I thought it was a charming story. I’ve always secretly wanted to be a French actress. And not least I got that classic phone call – it’s Steven Spielberg on the line for you!” said Mirren.
“Whenever an actor is lucky enough to receive that phone call you never believe it.”
The film is a dram-edy that follows the story of Mirren’s French character who protests the opening of an Indian restaurant a hundred feet from her own and this escalates to an all-out war between the two establishments.
Despite the film’s culinary plot, Mirren says she’s not much of a chef.
“I do an incredible beans on toast. Marmite on toast or marmalade on toast. But I’m not much of a cook. I love food, I love to eat but I’m not a great cook,” said Mirren.
