Harrison Ford has been rushed to hospital after injuring himself on the set of the new Star Wars film.
The 71-year-old was taken to John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford from the set at Pinewood Studios after injuring his ankle during a scene.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Harrison was injured when the hydraulic door of a spaceship prop fell on him.
“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set ofStar Wars: Episode VII,” Disney confirmed.
“He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates.”
Harrison is reprising his iconic role as Han Solo and was injured while shooting a scene aboard the Millennium Falcon, the spaceship his character pilots.
It has been 40 years since Harrison first appeared in a Star Wars movie. While details of the latest movie have been kept under wraps, the story is set 30 years after the events in 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
