Saturday the 29th of August marks the birthday of one of the world’s greatest pop legends, Michael Jackson, who would have been 57.
Dubbed ‘The King of Pop’, Michael reigned at the top of the charts for years on end with hits, Thriller, Billie Jean and Beat It.
Starting as a member of the pop phenomenon, Jackson 5, of which he was the star, it wasn’t long until Michael could command the stage himself.
In the course of his legendary career, Jackson collected accolades as often as he released hits, claiming the titles ‘Best Selling Album of All Time’ and ‘Artist of the Century’.
But it wasn’t just his music that he was known for, Michael was also honoured as having supported and given to the most charities of any entertainer.
He left behind three children, Michael, Paris and and Prince.
