Halley Berry calls out troll: “I’m not ashamed of my kids”

Don't mess with this mama.

Halle Berry is a fierce and protective mother bear.

While the 50-year-old actress has chosen to be a public figure, she is very aware that her children, Nahla, 8, and 3-year-old son Maceo, are not. And for that reason she does not show their faces on her social media pages like Instagram.

Her offspring are represented in her Instagram photos but you just won’t see their faces. That’s the way it is, and that’s the way it’s most likely going to stay while her kids are little.

Nevertheless she recently copped some flack from trolls for a shot of her littlies that only showed their smiles and torsos.

“What’s with the hiding of the faces? They’re beautiful children why not show them off?” one wrote.

And this is how she responded: “I’ve noticed you have said this several times now so let me be clear — I’m not at all ashamed of [my] children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children.”

Total class – as many of her Insta followers noted, with hundreds rushing to the actresses defence.

“Kudos to you @halleberry I applaud your efforts to guard y our children’s privacy 100% Even as a child I dreamed of fame and fortune. When I became a teenage mother, I chose to wait until my youngest completed high school before I pursued my passion full time.”

“I choose not to put my son on for the same reason (though I respect anyone’s choice to do differently) and have received so much grief over my decision. How can anyone argue with a mother trying to protect her child?”

“Your comments were not about Halle, they were about her children. Her children are not the celebrities here; she is. She is entitled to want privacy for them. And if you “love” her as much as you claim to, you would respect her decision about not showing their faces, instead of constantly barraging her with your unsolicited opinions.”

But the haters are gonna hate: “I can say what I please. It’s pointless to cover their faces when the paparazzi shows us the kids faces anyways.”

Halle is part of a growing trend both among celebrities and your average parent not to post photos of their kids online. For most people, it’s in a bid to protect the sanctity of their kids’ image, and because they don’t want to post photos of their kids without their kids’ consent.
