Although it’s been less than a year since Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin “consciously uncoupled” it seems that she is happy her ex has found love with new girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence.
The former couple were married for 10 years before announcing their split earlier this year and a source says Paltrow, 42, is happy Martin has moved on with the 24-year-old Hunger Games star.
“Chris, Gwyneth and Jennifer were all in LA earlier this month, so Gwyneth suggested a friendly lunch between her and Jennifer,” a source told LOOK magazine.
“They met at her Brentwood home and drank tea and ate homemade scones while chatting in the garden.”
“Gwyn broke the ice by telling Jen she’s happy Chris wound up with such a smart, beautiful woman,” the source added.
While the credibility of the so-called “source” is unknown, if this amicable Goopy-style group hangout did take place then that’s mighty mature of the trio and good news for the former couple’s children, eight-year-old son Moses and 10-year-old daughter Apple.
Other reports also claim that Gwyneth and the 37-year-old Coldplay frontman are still close pals after he attended the actress’ recent garden party birthday celebration with other celebrity guests including Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Nicole Richie and Maya Rudolph.
“Gwyneth had a casual celebration during the day that Chris was a part of,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Many gifts arrived at the house, including flowers and art work.”
However, Chris did not bring his new beau, Jennifer along to the bash.
Also notably not in attendance at the celebration was Paltrow’s rumoured boyfriend and Glee co-creator, Brad Falchuk, 43, who was not spotted arriving at Paltrow’s Brentwood home.
