It’s not just another showbiz divorce. The inside story behind this ‘uncoupling’ is especially intriguing.
Six months ago, rumours swept through celebrity circles both here and in the US that Chris Martin was seeing an LA-based Aussie model. And two leading women in the entertainment industry here confirm they heard the rumour, too, but were unable to confirm it.
“There were people talking about it here, London and LA but no-one could ever produce any proof,” says one.
“We’d all heard the rumours but then Chris and Gwyneth carried on with their lives, trying to patch up the marriage.
“I think people hoped it would work out and that Chris had just had a fling with her. But once the divorce news broke last week, everyone started talking about it again and I’m hearing they are still seeing each other – but it’s all very low-key. Neither is ready to go public on this one.”
