Australian actor Guy Pearce has split from his wife of 18 years.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the couple decided to separate in January.
The split is amicable, and there are no children involved.
“Kate and I will always love and support one another and be the best of friends,” Pearce said in the statement.
“No-one knows me like Kate does, and we’ll forever be appreciative of our mutual respect.
“We’ve both grown enormously through our relationship, but sadly, the time has come to part ways.”
The pair first met in 1980, when they attended Geelong College. They got married in 1997.
Pearce took to Twitter to confirm the news, telling his followers they pair “couldn’t be closer”.
