Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame can now officially add “author” to her growing list of achievements after announcing she’s written a memoir.
On Wednesday morning, the 27-year-old made the exciting announcement to her 239,000 Instagram followers.
“G’day friends, I’m excited to announce I’ve written a book! Go on, I’m ready for the two-headed Tasmanian jokes…” she wrote in her endearing self-deprecating manner.
Grace illustrated the cover of her book using a $1 pen from Woolworths.
(Image: Instagram)But Grace’s fans were particularly delighted by her impressive illustrative skills.
The sexual assault activist drew the entire book cover by hand using just a pen from her local supermarket.
“I’ve also illustrated the cover, using a cheapo $1 ballpoint pen from Woolies,” Grace revealed.
Grace’s friends and fellow celebrities flooded her announcement with well-wishes and congratulations.
Grace’s book comes out in September.

Grace’s debut autobiography, The Ninth Life of a Diamond Miner: A memoir, will be available on September 27.

And, as with all her work, it offers a constructive and optimistic vision for a better future for all of us,” the memoir’s bio reads.
Grace, a sexual assault survivor, has become a pioneer for women by helping change laws, spread understanding, and giving strength and hope to other survivors.
The 2021 Australian of the Year has spoken countless times about the importance of using our voices and platforms to decry predatory behaviours, outdated attitudes and sexual harassment and abuse.
