Google has revealed all of their most popular celebrity searches for the year of 2014, and some of the results will surprise you….
Kim Kardashian didn’t even make it into the top ten of the most searched selfies, as she was beaten out by cute animals including monkeys and elephants instead!
Kim missed out on the top spot as the most searched celebrity overall too, with that honour going to Jennifer Lawrence who picked up the Oscar for best actress at the start of the year.
The world certainly felt the loss of Robin Williams who died suddenly in August at the age of 63 and was the most searched trending Google topic overall, as well as the most searched star we lost this year, followed close behind by Joan Rivers and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
Surprisingly Taylor Swift missed out on the top spot in the most searched song lyrics, coming in at five while Kim and Kanye and George and Amal had some of the world’s most popular weddings.
When it comes to red carpet fashions though, it was the Rihanna who took out the top spot, no doubt because of her preference for nipple-baring outfits!

Jennifer Lawrence was the most searched for celeb on Google in 2014, after bagging the Oscar for best actress at the start of the year.
Jen was followed close behind by….Kim Kardashian, who will probably be surprised she didn’t come in at number 1!
Renee Zellweger came in at number five, no doubt due to her dramatic change in appearance. Renee followed behind French actress Julie Gayet at number three and comedian and 30 Rock Tracy Morgan who was injured in a severe car accident this year.
Teenage Kiwi singing sensation Lorde ranked at number seven after dominating the charts for much of the year. Actor Jared Leto, who bagged this year’s Oscar for best supporting actor bagged spot number six.
Actor Matthew McConaughey bagged the best actor Oscar at the start of the year, for the Dallas Buyers Club – a role which saw him lose a dramatic amount of weight – he ranked as the 8th most Googled star.
Amal Alamuddin came in at number nine after going from a relative unknown to becoming the bride at one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year as she wed George Clooney. She was followed by the controversial owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, Donald Sterling, at number ten.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt might have tried to sneak away and have their wedding on the sly, but once the world found out, they were the third most Googled in the world. They were followed behind by US stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard and Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson came in with the eighth most Googled wedding, following behind Lauren Conrad and William Tell at number six and the uber attractive couple Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo at number seven.
Beyonce’s sister Solange and her super-funky New Orleans wedding to music video producer Alan Ferguson ranked at number nine.
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco’s January wedding to Ryan Sweeting came in at number ten.

Oscar Selfie came in at number three – referring to host Ellen Degeneres’ famously celebrity-packed selfie from the Academy Awards. This was followed by: 4. Obama Selfie , 5. Squirrel Selfie, 6. Christina Aguilera’s collaborative cover of the song ‘Say Something’ with A Great Big World came in at number one of the most searched song lyrics of 2014.
Nicki Minaj’s controversial track ‘Anaconda’ came in as the second most Googled song lyrics.
Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy ‘ which featured a ‘Clueless’ inspired video clip came in number three.
At four is one of the catchiest tunes of the year – ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
Taylor Swift came in at number five with her track ‘Blank Space’
Katy Perry’s Dark Horse was the seventh most Googled for song lyrics, following behind Lorde’s ‘Royals’ at number six.
The multi-starred ‘Bang Bang’ featuring Nicki Minaj again, Jessie J and Ariana Grande ranked eight ahead of Counting Stars by OneRepublic and Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ came in at number ten despite being released in 2013.
Robin Williams came in at number one of the top searches overall with the world mourning the loss of the comedic star who died in August.
The World Cup was the second most googled topic overall, taking place in Brazil mid-year (The Beckhams are pictured here attending). This was followed by the more serious topics of Ebola and Malaysian Airlines.
ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was the fifth most searched topic overall with celebrities everywhere taking part in the social media trend to raise funds for ALS sufferers. This was followed at number six by highly addictive game ‘Flappy Bird’.
The bearded Eurovision star and winner Conchita Wurst came in at number seven followed by the more scary topic of ISIS at eight.
Box-office breaking kids film Frozen came in at number nine, followed closely behind by Sochi Olympics at number ten.
Rihanna was the most Googled for her red carpet looks, no doubt because of her controversial style! She was followed close behind by Kiwi songstress Lorde.
Lupita Nyong’o bagged an Oscar this year for best supporting actress and also came in as the third most searched for red carpet look with her distinctive bright style, she was followed by Madonna at number four, Pharrell Williams at five, tween-star Zendaya at six and Kingsley at number seven.
Beyonce’s stylish sister Solange Knowles came in at number eight followed by basketballer Lebron James at number nine and Kesha at ten.
Robin Williams was the most strongly felt loss of the year, with many searching for him after his shock death in August.
Joan Rivers is also sorely missed, coming in as the second most searched for after she died at the age of 81 in September this year.
Oscar winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was the third most searched for after his sudden death in February at the age of 46 of an apparent drug overdose. The other most searched for stars that we sadly lost in 2014 were author Maya Angelou, comedian Jan Hooks, comedy star Harold Ramis, former childstar Shirley Temple, and actors Lauren Bacall, Mickey Rooney and James Avery.
