In news you’d never wish upon anyone, actress Goldie Hawn has been dealt the devastating blow of having to bid farewell for the final time to one of her dear friends.
The 71-year-old actress took to Instagram on Sunday to share the tragic news, posting a black and white throwback photo of the two during happier times.
“My best friend has passed,” the Snatched star writes. “Please treasure each other. Best friends get us through. Blessings to all this Sunday.”
Fans have expressed their deepest sympathies, writing sincere messages on the post: “Our love and prayers for comfort go out to you. There are no words,” one fan wrote. Another said, “God bless, Goldie. Wishing you peace of heart, and comfort from her soul’s presence.”
Goldie is yet to identify the name of her dear friend, but she has family and friends surrounding her to help her work through the grief, including her partner of 33 years, Kurt Russell.
The loved-up pair (but happily unmarried) have recently been enjoying summer together, snapping their adventures along the way.
They recently enjoyed hiking, bike riding and wine-accompanied picnics in Greece.
Russell, 66, recently gushed about his long-time lover as they both received matching stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May: “Goldie, to you, I owe my wonderful life.”
“Simply put Goldie, I cherish you. All of the stars in the sky or the boulevard don’t hold a candle to that,” he continued.
“There’s no one else I’d rather be next to than Goldie Hawn.”
