George Michael’s boyfriend says Twitter account was hacked

On Sunday, January 1, a series of now-deleted tweets appeared on Fadi Fawaz’s account, claiming the British singer had tried to commit suicide “many times.”

The allegations from the celebrity hairdresser sent shockwaves across the world, in light of George’s untimely death, following his passing on Christmas Day at the age of 53.

The tweets allege, “We loved each other very much and we were together almost 24 hours a day..”

“And finally he managed… he tried numbers of time to kill himself many times… the only thing George wanted is to DIE … not sure who that nasty close friend of George but I was in relationship with george micheal (sic) till I found him dead in bed.”

Fadi has no idea who sent the tweets about his late love.

Fadi, who had used the same Twitter account to announce that he had found George unresponsive in his bedroom, has since deleted the social media channel.

Combating the message sent, the hairdresser shared a statement to the Daily Mirror advising that his his account was hacked and he didn’t send out the tweets on Sunday morning.

“I am shocked with what’s going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed,” he said in the statement. “It’s a bit scary, to be honest. I did not send those tweets. I woke up at 11.30 a.m. to the news. I am not going to worry about these things.”

Thames Valley Police confirmed that at this stage George Michael’s cause of death remains “inconclusive”

“The cause of death is inconclusive and further tests will now be carried out,” they announced.

“The results of these tests are unlikely to be known for several weeks. Thames Valley Police will prepare a file for the Oxfordshire coroner. Mr Michael’s death is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”

Fadi and George had been together since 2011.

The boyfriend of the popstar revealed he didn’t see his love the night before his passing.

“I never saw him,” he admitted.

“I fell asleep in my car and I never saw him that night. The police know everything – that’s the most important thing.”

Fadi explained that they were looking forward to the end of year festivities, “We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don’t know what happened yet… George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I. Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was – he was a beautiful person.”

George passed away at the age of 53.

George’s tragic passing had fans across the globe in shock.

One of the 53-year-old’s closest friend’s Elton John took a moment during his concert in Las Vegas to pay tribute to the iconic star.

The 69-year-old belted out a solo rendition of their beloved duet Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.

A fan at the show recalled the touching moment to the Daily Mail, “Elton had sung a song in memory of John Lennon when he spoke about George Michael. After he sang for George, he turned his back on the audience and was shaking and looked like he was crying. I was in tears and so was everyone around me.”

“There were thousands of us in tears and it was very emotional. He received a standing ovation and had to be consoled by a band member before beginning the rest of the show. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”
