We have all heard the horror stories of Hollywood romances torn apart by movie roles, long distances and flirty co-stars, but George Clooney has revealed he’s not going to let that happen to him and new wife, Amal.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mirror, the newlywed actor told reporters that he and Amal have made vows to one another not to put their jobs first – this includes never being away from each other for more than a week.
“Our deal is neither of us can be more than a week away and so far in general that has worked out really well,” said the 54-year-old.
Fans of the actor were a little surprised when the heartthrob announced his engagement to Ms Alamuddin, and rightfully so – he was quoted as saying he would never marry again after his divorce from actress Talia Balsam in 1993.
And it seems Amal was surprised, as well.
“When I asked her to marry me, we had never talked about it so that could have been one of those moments where she could have said, ‘What? Are you crazy? I thought we were just having fun here’.”
Luckily for Mrs Clooney, she apparently got over her surprise pretty quickly. The good looking pair were married in a lavish Venice ceremony, just 12 months after first meeting.
A huge sparkler, everlasting vows of love and commitment and George Clooney?
Some people just have all the luck.
