According to US Weekly in the wake of the WikiLeaks Sony Hack it’s been revealed the 53-year-old, who played the iconic superhero in the 1997 flick Batman & Robin, has been known to use the names of his on-screen characters as pseudonyms.
“He signs emails to friends with a simple Danny Ocean [his character from the Oceans Eleven franchise] and he loves leaving voicemails saying, ‘This is Batman,’” a source close to the star told the publication.
And while George has since gone on to score a whopping eight Academy Award nominations and land two prestigious gold statues for Best Supporting Actor in Syriana and co-producer of Best Picture for Argo, it’s his role of Batman – that was panned by the critics at the time – that will always have a special place in his heart.
“George gets a kick out of the fact that he played Batman. He’s so proud of all his movies,” the source said.
In fact, one of the Gravity stars old email accounts used to be [email protected]. Ahh, just when you thought you couldn’t love Mr Clooney anymore!
